Setting Up For Business

There are many ways to start your own business on the Internet. We'll point out some general ideas that can be useful in developing a strategy to make money from your website.
The 3 Requirements:
  1. Your Own Website
  2. A Product
  3. A Payments Processing Service

1. Your Own Website
We can help you out with a domain name of your own and reliable hosting for your enterprise.

2. A Product
Coming up with a product is up to you. Perhaps you have a software program or a product that you can make and sell. The most common  method is to resell a product that you buy.

Another very popular approach is to become an affiliate and sell someone else's product for a share in the profits. This can earn you a substantial commission without having to worry about the details of the actual sales.

There are thousands of affiliate programs and websites seeking people to sell their products. They range from physical books at Amazon.com to E-Books at various wholesale and retail sites.

3. A Payments Processing Service
To enter the exciting world of ecommerce, a reliable payments processing provider is essential. Fortunately, there are many choices available to you. I will mention 3 that I have had positive experiences with:

ClickBank Click here to visit ClickBank
ClickBank is another service that I have used for a long time. They are reliable and have always mailed me their checks on time. They handle services, software, site memberships, and products that are provided electronically through the web.

One of their best features is their affiliate program. You can choose from thousands of products to promote and get commissions on. ClickBank handles the commissions automatically, so you won't get ripped off by the merchant.

2checkout Click here to visit 2checkout
2checkout has grown very fast due mostly to the ease of use and fast sign up process. You can be selling with them in less than an hour. Their fees are very reasonable, and their interface is fairly user friendly. Your customers don't have to sign up for membership, making for a smooth payment process. 2checkout sends you a daily email with your activity.

One of my favorite features is having the details of the sale sent to a program on my end. I then write the information to a file for later review. Their sales integration  tools are among the best.

PayPal Click here to visit PayPal
PayPal is probably the most sophisticated and biggest payments processing provider around. They claim to have over 50 million members and were bought out by eBay recently. While their fees are reasonable and their service is superb, they require your customer to sign up for their service. While this is a simple process, some people may shy away from joining.

Without getting too deep into the subject, it is just absolutely amazing how a small internet business can be started with minimal effort and minimal cash. In a general sense, the costs are approximately as follows:

Domain Registration Fee:
$15.00 for one year

Hosting costs:
$100.00 a year when paid in advance, $120.00 if paid monthly

Payments processing Start-up cost:
About $50.00 one-time fee

Your total outlay is less than $200.00 a year!

No wonder so many people are getting started with their own web business. It's like having robots working for you 24/7/365.

Good luck in your ventures!
